FAQ
What are the benefits of choosing a Puretec drinking water system?

Puretec drinking water systems are crafted to meet global standards, informed by in-depth research and valuable customer feedback. Engineered with uncompromising quality and cutting-edge technology, they deliver consistent, reliable, and great-tasting water every time. Designed for both performance and innovation, Puretec ensures your water meets the highest standards of safety and purity.

When should I change my Puretec filter?

The replacement schedule for your Puretec filter depends on the type of cartridge and your water usage. As a general guideline:

Standard cartridges: should be replaced every 6–12 months.

What is the difference between melt-blown, polyspun, pleated, and wound filters? Which one should I choose?

Each type of filter cartridge has unique characteristics suited to different applications. Here’s a quick overview to help you understand the options:
  • Melt-Blown Filters::Constructed from continuous polypropylene fibres, these filters are best for removing fine sediment and particles in a single gradient. They are ideal for consistent water quality and moderate sediment loads.

  • Polyspun Filters:Made from thermally bonded polypropylene, these filters offer gradient density, trapping larger particles on the surface and finer particles deeper within. They’re a great all-rounder for varying water qualities.

  • Pleated Filters:Designed with a large surface area, pleated filters capture high sediment loads and are reusable with proper cleaning. They are perfect for applications with higher sediment levels.

  • Wound Filters:Made from tightly wound fibres, these filters are highly effective for heavy sediment loads and high-pressure applications. They excel in industrial or demanding environments.

Which one should you choose? The best option depends on your specific water quality and filtration needs. For personalised advice, contact our friendly & knowledgeable team for an obligation free quote today on 1300 299 606, and we’ll recommend the ideal solution for your requirements.

What is chlorine, and is it harmful?
Chlorine is a chemical commonly used to disinfect water and kill germs, making it effective for maintaining safe drinking water. However, it can have drawbacks. Chlorine contains compounds called Trihalomethanes (THMs), which are byproducts of chlorination and are recognised as potential carcinogens. Prolonged exposure to THMs has been reported to have links to certain health concerns.

Additionally, excessive chlorine can negatively affect the taste and smell of your water, making it less pleasant to drink. Puretec carbon filters are highly effective at removing chlorine and its byproducts, ensuring your water is not only safe, but also tastes and smells better.

"Dear 4 Pumps,

I purchased a pump off you mid Feb. Just wanted you to know best value for dollar ever. The little pump is working very hard in a factory pumping liquid with about 20% solids and hasn't missed a beat. Great pumps, thanks."
